Abdominoplasty
(Tummy Tuck)

About Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a major surgical procedure that will remove excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen and tighten the abdominal muscles. This procedure is designed to give you a smoother, flatter abdomen. It is particularly effective in removing stretch marks from the lower abdomen, but should be understood that not all stretch marks can be totally eliminated. This procedure is most commonly performed in women following multiple pregnancies or major weight loss. Men with localized fat accumulation, and excess skin of the abdomen may also benefit from this procedure. Abdominoplasty incisions are usually made just within or above the pubic area and around the naval. These incisions are kept to a minimum and fade over time. Liposuction can be recommended in conjunction with the tummy tuck in order to achieve better aesthetic results.
