Breast Augmentation | (SALINE AND SILICONE GEL IMPLANTS)

Breast augmentation is a very popular cosmetic procedure where implants, saline or silicone gel, are placed under either the breast tissue or muscles of the chest wall. By inserting an implant behind the breast, you can increase a woman’s bra size by one or more cup sizes. There are several reasons why a woman may choose this surgery:
-To enhance and optimize proportionate body contour.
-To balance the difference of volume in breast sizes.
-To replace volume loss associated with aging, giving birth, or following weight loss
Breast implants can be placed through several different incision sites.
Areola Incision: a small semi-circular incision typically from 3-6 o’clock position. Inframammary Incision: This incision is approximately 4cm, which is made in the lower breast fold/crease. Axillary Incision: This incision is approximately 4cm, and is made in the crease of the armpit.
At your consultation appointment Dr. Attaran will discuss your different implant options such as saline vs gel, smooth vs textured, and round vs shaped. Together you can choose the best size and option for your body type.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Many times following childbirth, nursing, weight loss, or menopause a woman may find that her breasts have lost their firmness, and are sagging. A breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure that lifts and reshapes the breasts. It is also quite common for a woman to have a breast lift in conjunction with a breast augmentation.

Depending on the degree of ptosis (sagging) of the breasts, the incisions can be made entirely around the areola (the pink skin surrounding the nipple) or from the middle of the areola down to the breast fold. This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. A surgical bra is worn after surgery for a few days followed by a soft cup bra for three to four weeks.

Breast Reduction

Large sagging breasts not only interfere with normal physical activity but can also cause back and shoulder pain in many women. Breast reduction is a surgical procedure that reduces, lifts and reshapes the breasts making them more proportionate to the rest of the body. It can also reduce the size of your areola (the pink skin around the nipple.)
Incisions are made around the areola and extend vertically down the middle of the breast to the breast crease. New techniques have been developed where the incisions may be shortened and scarring is minimized. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
