Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a major surgical procedure that will remove excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen and tighten the abdominal muscles. This procedure is designed to give you a smoother, flatter abdomen. It is particularly effective in removing stretch marks from the lower abdomen, but should be understood that not all stretch marks can be totally eliminated. This procedure is most commonly performed in women following multiple pregnancies or major weight loss. Men with localized fat accumulation, and excess skin of the abdomen may also benefit from this procedure. Abdominoplasty incisions are usually made just within or above the pubic area and around the naval. These incisions are kept to a minimum and fade over time.
Liposuction can be recommended in conjunction with the tummy tuck in order to achieve better aesthetic results.
Women and men who have a protruding belly, loose hanging abdominal skin and weak abdominal muscles are candidates for a full tummy tuck.
Mini-Abdominoplasty, sometimes called a mini-tummy tuck, may be performed on patients who only have a limited amount of loose skin or stretch marks in the lower abdomen and who would not need the tightening of abdominal muscles that is part of a standard abdominoplasty.

Liposuction

Liposuction or liposculpture permanently removes localized fatty deposits through tiny incisions to give you a smoother and slimmer body contour. This procedure has been designed to target and treat fat deposits which cannot be controlled by diet or exercise. Liposuction is effective in removing fat from the neck, arms, flanks, abdomen, hips, thighs, saddlebags, buttocks, knees and ankles. However, liposuction cannot eliminate cellulite, or correct loose hanging skin. This procedure is most effective in patients with good skin elasticity. If you have good skin tone, it is more likely that your skin will respond to surgery. Depending on the extent of the surgery it can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.
A compression garment is worn after surgery to reduce swelling.

Fat Transfer

Fat transfers can provide natural-looking, beautiful results using the patient’s own fat. This technique involves removing fat from one part of the body, such as the thigh area, and injecting it in the same individual in another part of their body. The advantage of using one’s own fat is that it is safe and non-allergenic. Facial fat transfers are designed to contour and fill in furrows, wrinkles or depressions. Fat transfers can enhance areas such as the lips, laugh lines, cheeks, nasolabial folds (vertical lines extending down the side of the nose) and marionette lines (lines at the corners of the mouth, that extend down vertically.) Another popular spot for fat grafting is the buttocks where it can produce a fuller and more youthful appearance. Most patients do need to come in for an additional treatment from time-to-time, but much of the fat that is transplanted will be permanent.

Mommy Makeover Procedures

A Mommy Makeover is simply a term for the combination of procedures that counteract the physical effects of pregnancy on a woman’s body. These procedures are often a tummy tuck, liposuction and a breast lift. Because each body and each pregnancy is unique, the recommended combination of procedures will be customized for that particular patient as well.
During pregnancy the breasts and tummy enlarge and the skin endures stretching causing a permanent change in shape. Older mothers may even notice a bigger change due to the loss of elasticity of their skin with age. Oftentimes women may notice that no amount of diet and exercise will restore their body to its pre pregnancy stage. Cosmetic surgery can address these changes and restore the flat profile of the tummy as well as the contours of the waist and breast. The results from these procedures help raise self esteem leading to a happier and more confident woman.

BBL(Brazilian Butt Lift)
or Butt Lift Surgery(liposuction and fat transfer to the buttocks)

The Butt Lift Surgery has become an increasingly popular procedure. The overall shape of one’s rear end is mostly determined by genetics and difficult to change through diet and exercise. The Butt Lift surgery uses a person’s own fat that has been liposuctioned out from one or several other areas like the thighs, flanks or abdomen. This fat is then processed and purified before being reinserted into the buttock area to increase its size and/or give it the curves and fullness that may be desired for a youthful and more sensual appearance.
Although some of the results of the Brazilian buttock lift surgery are immediately visible, the shape continues to improve over the next 3 to 6 months.
You may be a good candidate for the Butt Lift Surgery
-if you are unhappy with the shape and size of your buttocks
-if you are over 18 years of age
-if you are in good health and a nonsmoker
-if you are at a stable weight and have realistic surgical expectations

Arm Lift Surgery

Brachioplasty, also known as arm lift, is a plastic surgery procedure designed to remove redundant, flabby, and sagging skin folds of the upper arms. Hanging arm skin folds are not only unsightly, but also interfere with one’s ability to fit in sleeved tops, as well as causing underarm skin rash and irritation.

The majority of candidates for brachioplasty are those have lost massive weight following Bariatric Surgery, also known as “stomach stapling” or “lap banding.” While these patients reap many health and psychological benefits from this weight loss, one of its after effects is sagging skin that hangs from the arms and other parts of the body. Because the skin has lost its elasticity no amount of diet or exercise can restore firmness and tone to the arms.
Another group of candidates for this procedure are those who have developed upper arm flabbiness, simply due to the loss of elasticity that accompanies aging.
Fortunately, brachioplasty or arm lift can help restore a person’s ability to wear blouses and shirts comfortably, to show their arms without feeling self-conscious, and to conduct their lives with greater freedom and confidence.
Men and women who are not good candidates for brachioplasty include those who predominantly have excess fat, which are better served with first undergoing liposuction.
The type of brachioplasty performed by Dr. Attaran depends upon the amount and location of your excess skin. If excess hanging skin is located within two inches from the armpit, he may be able to pull up and tuck this excess skin into the armpit with an axillary brachioplasty or mini arm tuck. For those whose excess skin extends from the armpit to the elbow, the only option is the complete removal of the arm flab in a standard brachioplasty or standard arm lift.
An important consideration for brachioplasty patients is the resulting scars. With a mini arm tuck, the scar is limited to a semi-circular line hidden in the armpit. Standard brachioplasty, however, results in a permanent scar extending the length of the upper arm, from the armpit to the elbow. This scar is either placed on the inner side of the arm, which is hidden in a normal pose; or at the bottom of the arm just, like the seam of a shirt. The severity of the scar’s appearance varies from patient to patient and cannot be predicted. Therefore, it is extremely important to decide whether having a permanent scar is a good “trade off” for having smaller and firmer upper arms.

During your consultation, Dr. Attaran will discuss not only the surgery and your options but also your expectations from the surgery. He will discuss your complete medical history, including any past medical conditions and surgeries. He will also discuss the use of intravenous sedation or general anesthesia and will decide which is best for you. Depending on the areas to be corrected, Dr. Attaran will go over where he can place the incisions to minimize healing time without compromising aesthetics.

Thigh Lift Surgery

The majority of candidates for thigh lift surgery are those that have lost massive amounts of weight either through diet and exercise or following bariatric surgery. Because the skin has lost its elasticity no amount of diet or exercise can restore firmness and tone to the thighs.

Another group of candidates for this procedure are those who have developed lower body dimpling or sagginess simply due to the loss of elasticity that accompanies aging.
Thigh lift surgery is a procedure performed to reduce sagging of the thighs by removing the excess skin and fat tissue. This procedure results in smoother skin and a smaller, more proportionate lower body. Ideal candidates for a thigh lift are people who are able to maintain a stable weight. Ideal candidates will also have no medical conditions that could impair healing or that would increase the risks associated with the procedure. Candidates should also be non-smokers. Those seeking this surgery should also have a healthy outlook on life and have realistic expectations of what the outcome of surgery will be. They should also maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and a proper diet in order to maintain the benefits of the surgery.

During your consultation, Dr. Attaran will discuss not only the surgery and your options but also your expectations from the surgery. He will discuss your complete medical history, including any past medical conditions and surgeries. Dr. Attaran will go over where he can place the incisions to minimize healing time without compromising aesthetics.
You will need to be prepared to give your doctor a list of medications you are currently taking and to discuss any previous surgeries that you have undergone. Dr. Attaran will also evaluate your health and risk factors.
While Dr. Attaran will go over the risks of surgery with you in detail, you should also make sure all your questions regarding your surgery are answered. Your surgery will be easier if you are comfortable with the knowledge of what to expect.
